The following scriptures will be the basis for the four studies for new believers. They are printed here in three
different versions, so that the wonderful truth about Jesus and His salvation
for you will be easy to understand and take into your heart. The verses are all from
the letter that Peter, Jesus’ disciple, wrote to Christians, who had been
scattered by persecution all over Asia Minor .
1 Peter 1:3-5
“ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who
according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance undefiled and
that does not fade away, reserved in Heaven for you, who are kept by the power
of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” (NKJ)
“All honour to God, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ;
for it is His boundless mercy that has given us the privilege of being born
again, so that we are now members of God’s own family. Now we live in the hope
of eternal life because Christ rose from the dead. And God has reserved for His
children the priceless gift of eternal life; it is kept in Heaven for you, pure
and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And God, in His mighty
power, will make sure that you get there safely to receive it, because you are
trusting Him. It will be there in that coming last day for all to see.” (The Living Bible)
“What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have Him, this
Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we have
been given a brand new life, and have everything to live for, including a
future in Heaven – and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over
us and the future. The day is coming when you’ll have it all – life healed and
whole.” (The Message)
1 Peter 1:18,19
“Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things , like
silver and gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your
fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish
and without spot.” (NKJ)
“God paid a ransom to save you ...and the ransom He paid was not
mere gold or silver, as you very well know. But He paid for you with the
precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God.” (The Living Bible)
Read
these verses every day over the next month. Read them with your own name in
them, and let the Holy Spirit imprint on
your heart the magnitude of God’s love for you, and how wonderful it is to now
be in His family, and to have eternal life. Also pray them for your family and
friends, speaking and believing for this same salvation for them.
